La Estancia Farm is a working Olive and Buchu farm situated on the edge of the Limietberg Nature Reserve, a pristine reserve tucked away in the Du Toitskloof Mountains, near Paarl. A World Heritage Site, Limietberg offers a number of beautiful hikes through that wind through fynbos, indigenous forest, rugged and steep kloofs, and valleys through which the Breede and Berg rivers flow.
With magnificent views over the Cape Winelands and Table Mountain (60km to the West) La Estancia Olive Farm is tucked into the landscape with a view that you own and provides unique access to nature. While there are extensive groves of some of the oldest olive trees in the country, buchu and some citrus and guavas, much of the farm is left to indigenous fynbos.
Designed by architects Steven Harris and Lucien Rees-Roberts, the spacious main farmhouse with double volume ceilings opens onto a generous balcony with magnificent views over the dam. There is a further seating and dining area at the back of the house, connected to the kitchen. Huge trees give shade to the pool decking on hot summer days, making it the ideal place to spend time or to have sundowners.
Currently also offering self-catering accommodation, the farm just a short drive from Franschhoek and Stellenbosch and ideally positioned as it is close to Ashanti, Nederburg, Palmiet and De Leeuwenhof – popular venues for weddings and functions.
